Reading the forecast

The projection is a straight line through your last eight weeks, not a promise.

Every trend chart ends with four projected weeks. Here is how to read them honestly.

Steps

  1. The projection fits a line through the last eight uploaded weeks and extends it four weeks.
  2. A rising line means the last eight weeks rose; it knows nothing about next month's weather or staffing.
  3. With fewer than three uploaded weeks the projection repeats the last value.
  4. Hover the note under the heading to see the method spelled out.

Good to know

  • Use the projection to spot a slide early, not to set a quota.
  • Upload every week so the eight-week window stays current.
